Description:
The piece is both a book and an installation. The book’s narrative reflects the site specific concerns of the exhibition it was written for. The exhibition was an experiment in institutional transparency. The goal was to make public the process of creating an exhibition, exposing the typically hidden streams of communication, process of installation, and negotiations between artist and institution. The book is written as a “Choose Your Own Adventure” story in which you, the reader, are taken through a series of possibilities that include crisis of funding, legality, institutional conflict, and ego. The installation elements are props from the narrative, blurring the line between fiction, reality, transparency and veracity.
